Our Team
James D. McTear. PhD
A former Royal Navy and Merchant Navy Engineer, Jim designed and commissioned the world's first FPSO which is now the standard for offshore oil extraction and refinement. As CEO of Blue Planet Energy Systems, he has designed a several marine-based systems to eliminate the carbon footprint of EfW operations. His latest innovations are focused on developing industrial scale battery systems to ensure renewable energy can be stored during periods of low demand.
Chris Ward. MBA
Also an engineer, Chris has a background in manufacturing process design, factory management, and supply chain management. He has taken Jim's concepts to the industrial design level with computer-aided design and digital simulation, and works with potential partners on project management and delivery programmes for Blue Planet Energy Systems.
